(4 out of 5 stars)

"First and foremost, please visit Travis at TDRS Music and buy this disc there.

This is one of those albums that is likely to be hit or miss with listeners. Even those listeners who are fans of Buckethead may not be as into this one as they would on an album of structured songs.

This is an album of three jams; clocking in at 15:37, 9:11 & 14:45 respectively. These jams are taken from the sessions for Buckethead's Population Override. They do not resemble the music from that album, just to be clear.

That being said, I did rate this one at 4 stars. I did so for a reason too; these jams are tasty. Especially Siege; which is, (in my opinion), the stand out track on this album.

As a whole these three long jams do have enough substance to keep you coming back for more. Pinchface lays some great beats for Buckethead and Travis to play around in, there are some re-occurring themes and some melodies that help make it ok that the album is sloppy and all over the place. It kinda reminds me of how jazz used to be (not that this is all that jazzy, but it has that vibe that you'd usually attribute to jazz).

I highly recommend this if you are on the fence about it.

If you are new to Buckethead, you should probably get some other (slightly more) accessible albums first (i.e. the aforementioned Population Override, Crime Slunk Scene, Elephant Man's Alarm Clock, Colma & Enter The Chicken)

But whatever you do, get it at TDRS.
