Ryan Fairbanks | Cleveland, Ohio | 08/25/2007 (4 out of 5 stars) "We have here the third album from Death Cube K, and the first to be released from Travis Dickerson Recording Studios. Here instead of the Buckethead on guitar and Bill Laswell on bass lineup, we have buckethead on guitar and Travis Dickerson himself on the keyboard. To the trained ear, this album differs greatly from the previous efforts Dreamatorium and Disembodied.
The two previous discs were comprised of dreamy ambient noise that could not be distinguished as guitar or bass. On tunnel ,the guitar is immediately distinguishable. The keyboards actually incorporate a lot of non-musical sounds such as machinery, gunfire, a crowded room full of voices amongst others. In summary Tunnel is missing the mysteriousness and the soothing feel of Dreamatorium for instance. So if you loved Dreamatorium or Disembodied you may not get into this one as much. Personally I would rate this as the least satisfying DCK although it certainly is cool. As always remember that the official distributor of this CD is www.tdrsmusic.com and they sell it for the fair price, so go there to make your purchase." |
