Bad intro...

"Don't let the one star fool you, I am a big Bruce Cockburn fan. I am writing this primarily to those who may not be familiar with his work, and are considering this collection as an introduction. This is NOT a good album to start listening to Cockburn. Bruce has never really been a "hit singles" oriented artist (only one of these songs charted in the US at position 24)). He brilliance is most clearly evident in live performance, and any of his live albums would make a better intro.Better yet, check out his show if he is on tour. For studio albums, try some early work like High Winds White Sky and Sunwheel Dance, or one of his more sophisticated albums from the nineties. There are some good songs here (Night Train, Last Night of the World), but the dated arrangements on the eighties tracks songs now sound very cheesy. Better to hear them in the context of the albums they came from."

"listening to Bruce Cockburn albums in the early seventies, what a treat to hear this great CD. Never thought a CD could equal my vinyl of the great classic LP "dancing in the dragon's jaws", but I have now! If you have never heard early Bruce Cockburn, I would buy this disc just to hear "wondering where the lions are", beleive me it doesn't get any better!!"
