Rock, Roll 'N' Remixes - A Britney Fans Dream
nodoubt444 | Townsend, MA USA | 08/18/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"On the fourth European single from Spears' blockbuster third album "Britney," Britney shows her fans one of her best single line-ups yet. The single opens with her fascinating, R&B influenced take on the Joan Jett classic "I Love Rock 'N' Roll." Rodney Jerkins makes the track bump and grind like no one else has before. Next on the plate is a Karaoke Version of the preceding track. This is not the version featured on the "Crossroads" EP released in America. This features no Britney vocals, just the background cheers. Very fun to sing along to. Track three brings us the third USA single from the album, Rodney Jerkins' edgy "Darkchild Remix" of the Max Martin tune "Overprotected." The "I Love Rock 'N' Roll" single is the only place to find the non-radio edit of this song, featuring an introduction edited out from the radio edit. Though a single in the USA, only commercialy availible in the USA on "Now That's What I Call Music, Volume 10." The track closes with a guitar driven, chilled-out "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman" thanks to the Metro remixing team. For a Britney fan, this single is 15 minutes in paradies."
