Intimate Bach

"This is a very good "old-fashioned" performance of the Brandenburg concertos by an unknown group of eastern Europeans. In spite of the slowish tempos and not perfect ensemble they manage to convey the joy of these masterpieces very well. What's missing is the edge of tension needed for some movements (the beginning of the second, where the trumpet part is played an octave below written); otherwise a good purchase, considering the price of the disc."
