"One year ago the Bozwell disk was introduced to me by a good friend in Vancouver. At the time, I was living the city life in Vancouver. I found the Bozwell CD to be very musically "catchy". Each track definitely possess a unique melody that causes my head to groove to the beats. Bozwell made for very pleasant background music in my apartment.
Recently, however, I have gained massive appreciation for Bozwell on a new level. I am currently living in Thailand and spend many hours becoming more intimate with my CD's, as I swing in my hammock. I have discovered the Bozwell CD to be a lyrical piece of art. The artist's obvious reflection of a past relationship puts a very unique meaning & feeling on the topic. Unique in that the songs give a very pure & 'non-commercial' feeling. Lyrically, my favourite song is #7- I am an Island. Bozwell takes the words right out of my mouth with statements like " I'm not one for weddings; but I'm good for a funeral" and "these happy couples put me out to sea" (I believe this is Bozwell's reflection of substanceless conversations with seemingly happy couples).
But if you want to test a song musically, definitely listen to #5- Motherload and #9. Anyway, I've put some time into this review because I always love to see talented underdogs. Now it's time for me to "set out to sea" in my hammock.
