CD Reviews

***THIS IS THE CD VERSION TO BUY***

(5 out of 5 stars)

"There are many copies of Blondie Hit Album Parallel Lines (1978) available on CD but this is the version to buy and here's why:

When analog masters are taken form the original source and put onto cd they are automatically remastered picking up all the nuances and sound as close as possible to what the band meant you to hear. Thsi version also contains THE ORIGINAL version of Heart Of Glass whish was 3:45 minutes and features slight differences in the drums and synthesizers, (if you have seen the original video this is the vesion used for the audio). This version is unavilable on any other cd, casstte, or vinyl released. When Parallel Lines was first released in September 1978 it contained Heart of Glass in it's original short disco form an das the song hti #1 all second pressings and on replaced the original version with the Extended Disco Version.

Also all the new so called remastered versions contain errors on a few songs. Hanging On The Telephone has an audible muffle durring the opening intro, Heart Of Glass is the Extended Version instead of the album Version, and Just Go Away has a drop out in the left channel audio in the middle of the sing which completley disrupts the listener from a an enjoyable experience.

Not only do these errors exist on the two new remastered versions but the remasters turned up the volume which slightly distort the bit rate and ambience of the music.

None the the above mentioned errors are on this CD Version.

Pick up this copy today."
Mandatory album in any good rock library

"Insanely creative at a particularly insanely creative period in rock music history, Blondie's "Parallel Lines" delivered on all the promise that you heard on their first two albums.

If you're looking at this thinking that every song is going to sound like "Heart Of Glass", then go somewhere else. This is musical diversity at its best.

It has great melodies, great beats, great humor, and great emotion.

Are there any female singers today that have the combined looks, intelligence, creativity, stage presence and vocal abilities that Debbie had in her prime? Don't think so!"
