The Triumph Of A Heart really gives all

"This european version of Björk's 'Triumph Of A Heart' single is a 5 track merge of the UK Parts 1 and 2. This is EXTREMELY nice, as the UK versions only have 2 or 3 tracks and hardly seem worth it, while here, you get all of the lovely mixes and edits on one disc.

1. Triumph of a Heart [Audition Mix] 5/5

This is the silliest song of björk's that I have ever heard! If you have seen the video (check out the DVD single or Medúlla videos DVD) there is a part where the album version of the song cuts out and the people in the bar begin beatboxing the song. This is basically a full length version of that bit. Overall, quite a fascinating track.

2. Vökuró [VV Mix] 5/5

A VERY different version than the album version. This version sounds like a southwestern ballad about a lonely cowboy and his blue eyed daughter ;). I really like this version because it completely removes all of the original background sounds and creates a whole different song.

3. Mouth's Cradle Mouth [Recomposed By Ensemble] 3/5

My least favorite track on the disc. I dislike it because it has the same vocals as the album version, however the really awesome background singing has been removed and replaced with random, beatless, noise. I guess it has some random appeal because it's björk, but it really disappoints. Ensemble, you could have done better :(

4. Desired Constellation [Ben Frost's School of Emotional Engineering Mix] 10/5

This is my most favorite track on the disc. Deffinitely hardcore, but only because it has some random scary bits that you wouldn't expect in this song. The vocals are fundamentally the same as those on Medúlla, but the background is quite different. It's sort of like a hybrid of the Choir Mix (on the TOAH DVD single) and the album version. You truly have to hear it to understand it's power. This mix has so much more power and emotion compared to the album version, however it still manages to be a quite track. Pure brilliance!

5. Triumph of a Heart [Radio Edit] 4/5

This is the album version of the song, however the 2nd verse ("The stubborn trunks of these legs of mine...") has been removed, shortening it by about 1 minute. I find it sort of pointless on the disc, and they could have fit another remix in it's place, but it does make the EP, as a whole, flow better and come to a logical conclusion. Heck, it's Triumph of a heart! You know that it's going to be good.

OVERALL! This is THE best single to come from Medúlla so far. Triumph of a Heart has always been my favorite track off of it, and all of the songs represented on this CD are true highlights of björk's work over the past few years. A real masterpiece of an EP and well worth any price!"
Buy this.

"it is simply sublime.

sure the video is goofy, but thats what we all love about pop videos. esp. bjork ones.

the remixes are out of this world. all three discs have golden and beautiful different takes for yet amazing songs.

the remixes definately do not take away the original's beauty."
