GALLI | San Juan, PR | 06/16/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "Recorded live in Melbourne during the summer (Winter in the U.S.!) of 2003, this legendary stage appearance by the original founding members of Little River Band is truly a gem. And this version is even better than the PAL format release over a year ago, as the DVD US release version in NTSC has been totally remixed, thus the digital 5:1 experience is just outstanding. Glenn Shorrock (The Voice!), Beeb Burtles and Graham Goble really outshine in this formadible live concert performance which lasts over 2 hours! Let's hope they come to the U.S. tour circuit after this much anticipated release, which hopefully will include the entire cast members of this concert, most particularly, their young guitar player, Simon Hosford which really outshines. So much that even CorsusMex has rated him the best new player in Guitar Player magazine just a while back. To hear the original voices of the Little River Band sing their original songs is great! They sound better than ever, and their backup band is excellent. Makes me miss this kind of music even more, given the state of music today. Wish they would tour this country, and make new music!
Highlights are the a cappella "Full Circle", "Mistress of Mine", "Cool Change", and "Help Is On Its Way". Very highly recommended!" |
