CD Reviews

Way to go dude!

"Bill, Brad Stroud, and I (et al) used to hang out in the dorms @ the school formally known as North Texas State University. We would get high on Nancy Wilson sides, or was it we got high while listening... probably both...Brad rest his soul was one of the two true whiz-kid musicians I knew while hacking my way through the program. The other was Bill Evans. Bill had it all, plus his was very tough minded. He did not take much BS from the old school jazz instructors especially when they hammered him for playing outside. I remember one time a fairly famous player in his own right stopped the lab band during Bill's solo and asked why Bill insisted on playing `out.' Bill's response was priceless and I can feel the power of it even today. Bill responded to the question with a direct, `well, well, because I like too..."Bill used to spend lots of time jamming with drummers in the cramped practice rooms. He was a monster player then and is still growing. -- Rich Bowman (rmbowman@mail.com)"
Bought this CD at the Theater's Hall right after a concert

"As I've just said, I had the opportunity to listen to Bill Evans live in my town during his Spanish tour, and I had never heard about him... but I enjoyed the concert so much, I was so pleasantly surprised by the wonderful music he and his band offered us that I didn't hesitate to buy one of the CD's they were offering at the Theater's Hall. And I must confess that the first time I listened to the "canned" version of Bill Evans' Touch, I felt slightly dissappointed: it sounded better in concert. In fact, this feeling has not disappeared completely, but the second impression was much better, and now I even listen to it in my car on my way to work. I'm certain I'll buy other works by him, previous or future.I'm not at all an expert on jazz, but perhaps this gives more credit to my recommendation: try this music and you won't be dissappointed."
Very easy!

"Comparable to his last CD and equally as wonderful. I hope that we will be hearing lots more from this artist."
