Another Triumph for Bill Elliott
Kevin T. Van Meter | New York, New York | 12/06/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"You take a risk making a "live" recording, fearing that the energy or mood can not be captured accurately. Bill Elliott and his marvelous Swing Orchestra has proven again why he is the leading swing band in this country today. He has been voted Southern California's favorite swing band and for good reason. In front of nearly two thousand lindy hoppers at the world famous Hollywood Palladium, Bill is at his best in playing and singing compositions of his own such as "Strutting With Kate" to the return of the darling Mildred with "Mildred, Won't You Behave?" Bill's singing group, the Lucky Stars are featured more this time around and Mike, Johnny and Royce have such a wonderful blend along with the oh-so-talented, oh-so-gorgeous Cassie Miller. "One Girl and Two Boys" shows off Cassie's huge singing talent while she is joined by Bill for "Swinging On Nothing." Bill gets to shine with a Cab Calloway re-make of "Everybody Eats When They Come To My House." "Lady Be Good" and "Somebody Loves Me" are excellent while "Bill's Bounce, featured in his third CD, is the best recording of the song yet. "Swinging Stars and Stripes" and "Jingle Bells" keep everybody in the holiday mood in Summer and Winter. This is Bill's fourth Swing CD. No other swing band can claim this. A Bill Elliott CD is always worth the money!
Update 3/12/02=The New York City Policemen/Firemen Hockey game was played at Madison Square Garden and at the end of the contest, Bill's "Swingin' Stars and Stripes" was played over the Garden PA system while America's heroes shook hands at the end of the game. The game was telecast by Fox Sports Network. New York's Police and Firemen think Bill is the best.
The world famous Grucci Fireworks company plans to utilize "Swingin' Stars and Stripes" this summer during their shows...possibly the huge Macy's 4th of July Show in New York City. America is coming back in patriotic spirit and the Bill Elliott Swing Orchestra is leading the way in music which will NEVER go out in style!!!"
