2005 remasters of his Vogue label recordings made in Paris, France, on Sept 20th & 21st, 1951 and March 12, 1952. This is the finest collection of recordings from his later years. Here he finally recorded "Black, Brown and White", his song about segregation which had always been rejected in the USA. Most of the tracks in this collection are solo recordings that spotlight Broonzy on acoustic guitar & vocal. His incredible finger picking & rhythmic guitar technique really stands out here. This set also includes seven live tracks with Blind John Davis on piano, recorded in "Salle Pleyal" Paris on February 5, 1952. If you like the 'Big Bill Broonzy Story' collection of 1957 recordings, this companion collection is a must. Any serious student of the blues should own this.
