Album Description
Claire Gibault was born in Le Mans and studied at the conservatory there and in Paris. She was staff conductor and assistant to John Eliot Gardiner, Music Director of the Opéra de Lyon, 1983-89. She is currently the Director of the Atelier Lyrique et Maitrise in Lyon. Gibault has conducted in concerts throughout France, and in Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Canada, and the US. Her repertoire includes works by Mozart, Schubert, Stravinsky, and a wide variety of French music. In December 1993 she made her British orchestral debut in a program of Dukas, Saint-Saëns, Ravel, and Bizet with the Hallé Orchestra.
