CD Reviews

GREETINGS FROM MIDDLE EARTH
Brent E. Johnson | Naches, WA | 01/15/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Aside from this being an album lyrically inspired by all things doing with middle earth, how's the music? I'm here to say it is epic, at times blackish, infused with european folk instrumentation and melody. Oh, and it rocks. I love the mix of female operatic vocals mixed with black metal growls. Very nice production and performances by all involved, this is a way cool offering of Tolkien inspired fantasy black metal that will appeal to many fans of different forms of metal. It's mostly mid tempo with some neo-gothic moments and almost Celtic music in it's mix. If you like orcs, hobbits, elves and want to mix it in a stew of extreme metal this is highly recommended."
Fantasy Metal from Finland
Ari | ny, usa | 05/17/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"After checking out the videos and music clips on the band's website, www.battlelore.net , I ended up purchasing all of their albums and even bought the pal video from the end records. They've changed a few members but the music is a combination of growling and clean male vocals accented by a sweet sirens song. This stuff is just good fun from a bunch of tolkien nerds who engage in larps and read lots of fantasy novels. They even play their concerts in full costume. Recommended for anyone who likes fantasy metal."
