Bongoloid will tear the crap out of a bad speaker system. It will sound distorted and bad. You get this thing going on a full-room DJ setup that was designed for clubs and whatnot... only then do you realise the greatness that is this tune.Truely a great song. The Romeo Club mix is a pretty standard affair (1 minute intro, 1 minute outro, bits extended), the radio edit is standard as well, with some clever mixing, and the last track... i'm thinking maybe it was a bunch of intro's for the radio edit that they had worked out? I'm not sure.Either way. Get it. Bongoloid is worth the money alone if you have speakers that can handle it." I bought this single because I was completely impressed with Basement Jaxx's album, "Rooty." The single is good because the radio edit has a smooth beats intro different from the album version's intro. Bongoloid alone is reason enough to buy this single. What an amazing b-side! Huge bass and beats, almost Latin or dance hall-style. Great dance tune with lots of hooks, including jamaican rap. It's a shock this one didn't make it on the album; it's worthy of being its own single. Camberwell Skies is an ambient demo, and interesting enough. My only complaint is all three Romeo mixes, done by the Jaxx themselves, don't stray too far from the original. The Club Mix just layers a few more beats on, and a small additional instrumental section towards the end. The beats mix is pretty minimal- getting louder then backing off, getting loud again and backing off; working with just a few beats, the line "you used to be my romeo," and "woah oh ey." So maybe the Jaxx should have had someone else mix Romeo for the single, but Bongoloid makes up for it, and Camberwell Skies is decent, too." Holy SH|T. This is Good!
