A humorous and intelligent attack on the conservative movement in America in the Reagan-Bush era, we see Barry's anger and cynicism and understand that his anger stems from a genuinely warm concern for human beings. I particularly enjoyed "Reagan's Farewell to the Nation", which is a wonderful summing-up of the disaster that was the Reagan presidency.Horace Walpole said that this world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel. Barry Crimmins obviously does both, and the synthesis is very effective."
