ONE GREAT BUY OF A CD BOX SET
10/26/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"ASTRUD GILBERTO IS ONE OF THE GREATEST SINGERS OF THE 20TH CENTURY. AND IF YOU WANTED A CD THAT HAD SUCH AN ARRAY OF GREAT SONGS, THIS CD IS A MUST. I LOVE HER VERSION OF "WAILING OF THE WILLOW" AS WELL AS OTHER SONGS LIKE "THE FACE I LOVE", "DINDI", "HERE'S THAT RAINY DAY", "IN THE WEE SMALL HOURS OF THE MORNING", "SUMMER SAMBA", "CALL ME", "GENTLE RAIN". I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS CD TO ANYBODY."
Interesting set of Astrud

"This is a nice set of Astrud's Verve years and it seems (to my ears)that some of the songs are alternate versions so it made it worth the purchase after having most of this materiel already in one form or another. The liners notes are alas in,(I think) Japanese with no English traslation. Very nice set."
