CD Reviews

Another quality Danish metal outfit.

(4 out of 5 stars)

"I thought I would give these guys a listen after they were recommended by the boys from Raunchy (another Danish metal band). Denmark has pumped out some quality metal outfits in recent time including the above mentioned, Withering Surface, Hatesphere, Invocator, and As We Fight are no exception. The six piece use a dual vocal line up switching between harsh, raspy screams to spooling demonic rumbles more reminiscent of Sakkuth. The dual vocals work well but the sound is not executed as well as other set ups, such as 3 Inches of Blood, as they can sound similar in delivery during some songs. The best sound is achieved when both singers execute a cleaner sound, good examples of this are in Dead Mans Hand, and Resistance which are a couple of stand out tracks on the album. Its very difficult to describe the genre that these guys would fall into, they deliver some vey good tempo changes ranging from emo-screamo punk to a good ol euro metal crunch. The intro to Bringing It All together is catchy as is the bridge piece of Dead Mans Hand, the riff in Catalyst of Terror is also a highlight. All songs are very polished with production handled by Tue Madsens Antfarm Studios (The Haunted, Withering Surface,"
