CD Reviews

The thrill is gone -- and it's out of stock as well

"This is one of Marcovicci's best, ranking behind only I'll Be Seeing You and What is Love? Kern was, of course, one of the finer American songwriters, and his combination of witty lyrics and melodies that once heard are not forgotten find a perfect interpreter in Marcovicci. She is impeccable in her enunciation, a worthy successor to the sublime Mabel Mercer."
Beautiful singing of beautiful songs by a real artist.

"This was my very first experience with this great performer, and I was immediatly smitten by her very unique voice and her sense of musical values. This lacks the intimacy of her I'll Be Seeing You album with its sense of the times and events of WW 2, but the beautiful music and her great sense of timing and diction make this a very special experience. You can't find such beautiful music so appealing performed,a master of the past being sung by the master singer of today. She is truly an artist for the lovers of good music in an age where there are very few of them."

"After buying this album a few years ago, we saw Andrea in concert (twice) at Baltimore's Center Stage. On her first trip here, all the performances sold out. This was not in cabaret, but on a small, low stage. We were seated fairly close, and I would swear I could smell Andrea's perfume. She not only sings beautifully, but peppers the performance with a witty and intelligent commentary on the song selections. When the show was over, I felt as though I'd spent the 90 minutes in a nice, warm jacuzzi bath. Her second tour through here did not sell as well, although Andrea sang as beautifully as ever. Baltimore is a tough town for performers, alas.

Long-story-short, if you are a romantic, you wouldn't regret buying this album, and you certainly wouldn't regret the opportunity to see and hear this delicious woman perform.
