CD Reviews

Still Burnin' Down That Road!
John Buchmelter | 02/21/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Although available in an older format, this new release proves that just a few new tracks can liven up a classic. The Alarm found themselves being alternative at a time when it wasn't cool and breaking up just when the bands they influenced were coming into thier own, so it comes as no surprise that the one track that makes this album worth purchasing is "Burnin' Down The Road", a prime example of what could have been, and a shining hope of what is to come from frontman Mike Peters. All in all a worthy find."
Best of The Alarm & Mike Peters--Never let the fire die!
John Buchmelter | 01/03/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This CD proves that the eighties new wave wasn't all about synthetic music. Although most of these versions are radio edits, it's still a good look into one of the most vital bands of their time. From the fired up acoustic and electric guitars of "Majority" and classic "68 Guns", to he hearfelt ballads of "Walk Forever By My Side" and "A New South Wales"Add to that the solo works of their former frontman Mike Peters (plus a new track "Down the Road" that you can only get on this CD) and you can see that the passion for the music is still there."
NOT FROM SCOTLAND
Jason R Murphy | Overland Park, KS United States | 02/01/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"The Alarm are from Wales and not Scotland. That being said, they are the best band to ever come out of Wales."
