CD Reviews

Hey, it's pretty good.

"I think this is a great metalcore/hardcore/what-have-you CD. I don't usually write Amazon reviews, but I thought it was a shame to have the rating for this messed up by ONE GUY who bought the wrong thing.

That said, this CD isn't mindblowing, but if you like this kind of music I think you'd be happy to have it. It's different enough, it sounds good, and the song titles and lyrics are pretty cool. A+!"
Well if it's YOUR mistake, then why is it a bad CD?

"I can see how someone looking for Funk Jazz can not necessarily like this CD. This CD is not even "death metal" as the reviewer described. Akimbo is a hardcore band fron Seattle. This CD is their first release on a national label. It's a mix of loud technical riffage, lots of distortion, hardcore, and influence from classic atmospheric/experimental bands like The Who and Sabbath. Sounds similar to Coalesce, Botch, Converge, etc. However, to me, this band has a unique sound that makes it stand out from other bands. This is their best CD to date, except for maybe Elephantine."
Over bloated genre

"this genre of music has too many bands sniffing each others

butts to find out what they should do next, i do find

akimbo the cream of the crop of this type of music.

more musical than most with songs differing from each other,

an oddity if you ask me when i hear this stuff.

highly recommended to people that like chaos with their

music, mastodon fans will love it!"
