CD Reviews

Great unreleased album that never was....Until Now!

(4 out of 5 stars)

"This is an excellent CD, and although not quite the same style as on the 1970 Affinity album with Linda Hoyle, the songs are great, and Vivien McAuliffe's vocals are wonderful, she really does have a great voice, but not as strong or powerful as Linda Hoyle's, but upon listening to her and this CD, I am very pleased with her vocals and the music is excellent. They even do another version of "All Along The Watchtower," which was on the one and only album Affinity had out in 1970, and it's similar, but still a little different. Their are also two instrumentals done by Mo Foster and another member, and those tracks are very good. The CD is dedicated to Vivien McAuliffe, who passed away in 1998 at just the age of 50. What a great loss, she was a very good singer, and I love her vocals on these recordings from 1971-1972. Vivien was also a very beautiful looking lady too. I would also recommend getting the CD's of the group she was in back in the late 60's, and that was Principal Edwards Magic Theatre. Overall, if you like the Affinity album from 1970 w/Linda Hoyle, you'll also like this, but once again, the music is not as "jazz-oriented"

as the original 1970 Affinity album, but I am giving it 4 stars because it's pretty darn good music, and you can't go wrong with this. Glenn Cypress, CA USA"
