"During Max Bruch's lifetime, he was quite famous for his choral music and this disc shows why; and it is regrettable that there is not more of it available on cd. I cannot stop playing it; everything on this disc is unbelievable. It has to be my disc of choice to take with me on a desert island. Damajanti op. 78 will blow your mind. The soprano is fantastic too. The mens chorus is all one could desire; this music would make Brahms jealous; (at times, it will remind you of Brahms too, only better) If you can find this disc anywhere, snap it up quick and treat yourself to the most beautiful heavenly music on earth. You won't be disappointed; the more you play it, the more it will grow on you. And you too will be out there searching for more of Max Bruch's choral music. I would give this disc a five star rating.
