CD Reviews

Actually I hate "Bombscare"
Phil Andringa | Cincinnati, Ohio | 11/28/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Althought the most famous song on the album (and very famous back in 92-95 also) its the worst. The rest are masterpieces of early jungle/hardcore rave techno. Tribal Revival, Mass Confusion, , 2 Bad Mice Take You, and Strip Search are some of my favorite songs, esp. Mass Confusion, feel that bass. Get it while it's around it might not be for much longer. If you liek old Acen and stuff liek that get this. And besides, it comes in a cool case."
About this...and why you should have it.

"2 Bad Mice are 2 (and sometimes 3) guys from the UK who helped to create the foundation of modern breakbeat and drum & bass. This CD is basically a greatest hits, a collection of the many singles that gave many a rave a good swift kick in the bassbins. In addition to "Bombscare" (which, even though it's pretty basic, is considered a classic by many) and its subsequent remixes, you get tracks like "Space Cakes", a jacked up, bouncy break workout, and the killer old-school Krome & Time remix of "Illegal Subs" ("Myoosic! Myoosic! Kem-Kemistry! Kemistry! Rhythim! Rhythim! The peo-ple! The peo-ple!"). "Drum Trip" and "Drum Trip II" will make it well wicked for you, and "Strip Search", while slower than the rest, still somehow manages to make your head bob and your feet shuffle, probably because it's obvious at that point that these guys know a thing or two about assembling a floor-filler.If you like old-school, especially breaks or jungle (or both), you should buy this. If you're more of a "newbie", you should buy this and establish a decent background for yourself."
