Classical music is a huge subject. Do you have a prefered type?

Baroque? Renaissance? Classical era? Romantic? Early Medieval?

Or are you more instrument/performer driven?

I live in a rural area which is "all country, all the time". I like country, too, but I would love the opportunity to talk to some other classical music enthusiasts.

I've found a lot of music to like in different eras. I can't pinpoint one as a preference.

Violin is probably my favorite instrument to listen to nowadays.

I'm looking for soothing, relaxing, free from stress and tension, very melodic. Nothing jittery, loud, fluctuating in volume. Does that describe a specific class of classical?

Try some Mozart string quartets or Schubert string Quartets. Also, Handel Concerto Grossi are stress free and very melodic. Try them all and enjoy!

I prefer piano concertoes (concerti?) for some reason, followed by cello solos. I like symphonies rather than chamber music. Those are my preferences; if you're looking to soothing music, perhaps the composers Satie, Debussy or Faure may appeal to you.
