THE BEST BRITISH POP ALBUM IN THE WORLD EVER is the title; it's a 2-disc set from EMI New Zealand and therefore unlistable.  50 tracks, many of which were also hits in the USA and are fairly common on other CD compilations.  However, there ARE 15 or so tracks that are more elusive (because they weren't hits here, mostly) and those made this set worthwhile for me.  Discs in excellent condition, will mail in dual jewel case, but it is cracked on back.  2 credits please.  Interesting tracks include JOE BROWN & THE BRUVVERS "A Picture of You" (1962 UK #2), THE SHADOWS "Kon-Tiki" (1961 UK #1), APPLEJACKS "Tell Me When" (1964 UK #7), JET HARRIS & TONY MEEHAN "Diamonds" (1963 UK #1), DAVE DEE, DOZY, MICK & TICH "Legend of Xanadu" (1968 UK #1), CRISPIAN ST. PETERS "You Were on My Mind" (1966 UK #2), THE MOVE "Flowers in the Rain" (1967 UK #2), JEFF BECK "Hi Ho Silver Lining" (1967 UK #14), WAYNE FONTANA "Pamela, Pamela" (1966 UK #11), CILLA BLACK "Anyone Who Had a Heart" (1964, UK #1), ALAN PRICE SET "House That Jack Built" (1967 UK #4), MERSEYS "Sorrow" (1966 UK #4).  The more common stuff includes hits by Nashville Teens, Georgie Fame, Sandie Shaw, Dusty Springfield, Animals, Donovan, Yardbirds, Lulu, Troggs, Zombies, Cat Stevens, Small Faces, Herman's Hermits, Fortunes, Peter & Gordon, etc.  The Lulu track is "The Boat That I Row" (1967 UK #6), a Neil Diamond composition that was also released in the USA as the A-side of a single that appeared to fail until djs discovered its B-side, "To Sir With Love," the film theme which became Lulu's biggest American hit, holding down #1 for five weeks in autumn 1967.
