The WL-Multiples short version

FIRST: Why do this?

SENDERS: You can send multiple items to one address and SAVE postage.
REQUESTERS:  Add items you see in this thread to your wishlist and it's a good chance you'll get them.  Thanks to the SwapaCD ability for senders to post items to your list directly, you can end up first in line, even for Wishlisted items. It's how SwapaCD works.

How to do it, the short version:

SENDERS: You list your postable CDs here in this thread: anything, even wishlisted items. Don't post them yet.  Ask requesters to request some minumum number of discs from your list. (3 discs minimum is common.)
REQUESTERS: Add the titles you want to your wishlist; PM the Sender and comment in this thread.
SENDERS: To make sure your requester gets the items, you will POST THEM DIRECTLY to your requester's wishlist.  This is a normal SwapaCD  thing to do. Find out how (it's easy): http://www.swapacd.com/help/search.php?terms=Can+I+post+a+CD+directly+to+someone%27s+Wish+List

The rules, short version:

CDs should be POSTABLE
CDs should GO THROUGH THE SwapaCD system (that is, no buddying credits or PMs to make deals)
CDs should be offered at the regular SwapaCD "price": one disc=one credit
CDs should be the versions requesters expect them to be.  Each CD listed should include a link, or UPC of the exact version you are offering.  Missing artwork should be made clear to requesters.

Want to list some additional info to tempt your requester to take an additional disc or two? Use this cool WL Multiple lingo:

"Zero copy" CDs are titles that are not currently posted.
"Only copy" CDs are titles that represent only copy posted.

Questions? Go read the whole rules 'n' stuff, below. I'll do my best --- and your fellow traders may be able to explain the fine points, too.

(Kudos to excellent explainer Tracy B. who wrote the original "Cliff Notes" version that made me understand WL Multiples.)

Have fun!
Your cruise-director-without-a-blazer, ICBERRY

The WL-Multiples FULL version

PLEASE READ EVERYTHING BELOW... before listing or ordering in the WishList Multiple thread.

Rules and instructions for Senders and Receivers:

****Wishlist Multiples**** will be a monthly topic located in the CD Bazaar, around the 1st day of each month.

Items remaining from the previous month can be moved over to the new monthly topic, but will be the responsibility of the offering member.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Happily, the SwapaCD Team has agreed to allow members here at SwapaCD the opportunity to trade this way, and has taken time to work with us to make it work well and fairly.

Both senders and receivers have certain responsibilities and obligations with this kind of trading, so read everything, and be on your very best swapping behavior to make it fun and fair for everybody.  It's a great feature! (You may know WL Multiples from the other two Swapa sites, so please do comment if you can help out with explaining.)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

****Wishist Mulitples**** topic is the only area where wishlist multiples may be offered.

Offerings and practices must adhere to these rules:

I. For the Sending/Offering Member:

TRADES MUST GO THROUGH THE SWAPACD SYSTEM. All Transactions that take place in this topic MUST have a SwapaCD "footprint", so that transaction fees remain intact. To create this footprint, the Sender must post all Wishlisted Mulitple CDs directly to the Receiving member's Wish List, which will trigger a "transaction" in the system.
Instructions for posting directly to a member's Wish List are here: http://www.swapacd.com/help/search.php?terms=Can+I+post+a+CD+directly+to+someone%27s+Wish+List

"Buddying" credits for items in this topic is not allowed, nor any practice that would cause or create the bypassing of SwapaCD transaction fees.

MAKE SURE YOU ARE LISTING THE CORRECT VERSION: All CDs listed MUST have an accompanying UPC or Link to SwapaCD to verify their Wish List status.

Recommended practice in your listings (not mandatory): Please note the number of wishers for an item, which may  increases your requests because other members will know how swappable an item will be.

Unpostable or Damaged Wish Listed items may NOT be posted in this topic. The only exception is specified below in Sets.

All CDs offered in the Wishlist Multiples topic, unless noted by Sender in the listing, must contain the highest level of inclusion of artwork. This means Disc, Front and Back inserts.

If you are offering Disc-only, Disc w/Back Insert, or Disc w/Front insert, you must specify this in your post. This gives members the opportunity to order or not order based on particulars and preferences.

You may not request more than the SwapaCD *price* (1 credit per disc).

You may include a sending requirement, since the purpose of this topic is to allow members to send out multiple items to save on postage. Example: "I am wanting to send out multiple CDs to save on postage", or " 2 or more items please".

To this end, you may allow members to combine Wish Listed items in this topic with CDs from your Tower in the interest of helping them meet your multiple sending requirement (i.e. "I am wanting to send out packages of 3 or more" ).
However, you are NOT allowed to place requirements on your Wish List Multiples CD orders in any other way. Example: You may not require orders from your regular tower. You may only offer it as an option to help members meet your multiple sending requirements, in the event they cannot find enough Wish Listed Multiples in your post to satisfy that requirement.

Sets: If you have a complete set of CDs where some are WL'd and some are not, you may offer a deal on them in the interest of wanting to keep the set together. You MUST state which are and are not WL'ed.

*Sets* is also the *only* exception where you can offer an unpostable or ever-so-slightly damaged CD. If you have a Set of 7 CDs that are WL'd and 1 of them is damaged slightly.....you can offer the set, but the damaged disc must be clearly described a such in detail. If there is more than one damaged disc, then that must also be noted.

Please do not list only 1 item. This topic is for the purpose of saving money on postage by sending out multiples. And obviously, if your sending requirement asks members to order 3 or more items, then you need to have at least that many items on your list.
Do not include statements like "first to PM me gets them". This constitutes placing further requirements on receivers that is not in keeping with the wishlist multiples purpose.

Wish List Multiples is a special privilege and only applies to this topic. Practices here do not carry over to your normal SwapCD account, i.e, You may not require multiple orders on your regular account and if you receive a FIFO order for a CD you must fulfill it as usual.

II. For the Receiving/Ordering Member:

The Sender will post CDs directly to your Wish List so that SwapaCD transaction fees can be applied.

Certain procedures must be in place to ensure that your order goes through seamlessly. Please make sure of the following:

That your Settings (under Privacy Controls) allows your Wish List to be public. Otherwise, the Sender will not be able to post directly to your Wish List.
That you have the specific Wishlisted items you are requesting on Auto Request.
That you have the correct corresponding UPC of the item you are requesting, so that the sending member can easily find it to post directly to your Wish List.
That if your Tower is on vacation, you have the items you are requesting on Auto Request
See: How does the Vacation Hold affect My Wish List? http://www.swapacd.com/help/help_item.php?id=541

That you have sufficient SwapaCD Money to cover each Wishlist Mulitple disc you are requesting.
SwapaCD transaction fees must be observed and will apply to each CD you request. (If you are requesting 4 items, you need to have 4 x $0.49 = $1.96 in your account, etc.). If a CD is a set, and has 2 discs in it, you still only pay just one transaction fee of $0.49)
That you have sufficient amount of Credits for the number of CDs you are ordering.
There is nothing more frustrating for a sender than to try to post to your Wishlist and not have the order go through, and then have to fire off multiple PMs back and forth to correct the situation.
You may not offer more than the SwapaCD *price* (1 credit = 1 disc, 2 credits = 2 discs)

III. Organization / Updating posts for Senders:

The topic can quickly become unweildy and cluttered, so please observe the following:

When some of the CDs in your post are taken, return and remove those items using the Edit function. You may use the strike-through tool for pending items, and then delete them entirely once they are sent.
When all of your CDs are taken, please return to your post and delete ALL remaining information.
If you need to add to your list as the month progresses, please return to your original post, and EDIT it, with your additions. In other words, each member should only have one post with their listings. This allows others to browse thru the Wishlist Multiples topic and see each member's offerings all in one post.
PLEASE keep your posts updated and current. It is very frustrating for members to read through lists and find a CD they want, only to find out it is no longer available because you forgot to delete it from your posting.

IV. Organization / Updating posts for Receivers:

If you make a post in this topic, i.e. that you are PMing a request or listing titles you want, PLEASE return to your post and DELETE ALL information after CDs are posted to you.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you and let the Wishlist Multiples BEGIN!

Subject: Being allowed to skip ahead of the line is BS

I think this skip to the front of the line being allowed is crap and unacceptable in my mind. I've got thousands on my wish list and I've been in line for some of them for a long time waiting my turn just like everybody else. You would think with as many as I have on my want list I'd get cds shipped to me everyday but sadly that isn't happening. You know why? Because this site is completely flooded with .01 cent cds most you can't give away! The percentage of popular cds people want and in line for is probably like 5% of the whole database if that. For somebody to be able to jump ahead of me in line and snatch a cd ive been waiting for (sometimes months if not years) out from under me when it's my turn in line really pisses me off! How is this going to help this site improve? Why would anybody waste their time adding popular titles to their want list when another member decides to jump to the front and snag it from those who are and have been waiting for particular discs? This doesn't encourage swapping. We'll just continue to have a SwapaCD site with nothing but thousands of cds nobody wants! It's bad enough here now. New members are not sticking around and long time members are fleeing in droves. I'm totally against this and I would hope that the SwapaCD moderators and founders would and will come to their senses and stop this jumping to the front BS. My thoughts are is they won't just as long as they get their money. This site needs major improvements to survive. They need incentives to get new members who will stick around and swap cds. Incentives and possibly rewards for posting "wanted" cds. Allowing members to jump to the front is just one more reason for me and others like me to swsp/trade my discs elsewhere. I said my piece. Thanks for listening.

Thanks for going first, Tracy!  I'm still new at this myself, so double-thanks for going first.

Everybody, remember, it's not called Wish-List multples because it's "about" ultra-desirable wish-listed items.  Requesters, It's about YOU adding something you see here to YOUR wishlist because it looks interesting to you.

Senders, It's totally normal to post items to someone else's wishlist on purpose.  It always has been.

Everybody is welcome to play.  Add anything to your list that you see here -- there's no "trick" to it.  It's just a nice way to know about new items, and if you're willing to order up TWO of (hi Tracy) Tracy's items, you could end up with them.

I'm going to try it, now.

I

I see in this posting and in others that you are not happy with some of the new changes in SACD.  You may consider looking at the changes in a more positive way.  People complained that SACD was not getting new CDs added into the mix for a few reasons.   One was that more people bought credits instead of putting more CDs into the mix by trading.   By raising the price you can sell a credit for, their hope (I would think) is to encourage people to trade CD's (and add to the mix) vs. merely buying credits - because now it's cheaper to do so.    Similarly, with reinstating the multiple wishlist, people are adding CDs to the mix that they may never have added if they had to send each one out individually.   This saves the sender postage and encourages them to add more CDs to the mix.   And I have been trading with icberry for a few years now - and she is truly top drawer - no worries about any motives of pushing someone ahead of you or anyone in line.    Your posts indicate you haven't been happy in a while with SACD - well they're obviously listening and making changes that will hopefully make trading a better experience for you and everyone.   And if something doesn't work - they could try something else - but at least they're trying.....

Got my new items already.  Thanks to Tracy for jumping in... I wouldn't have known about either of those discs if she hadn't listed them here.

Any time you add a Wish, your chances of receiving new discs go up.  That goes for this thread or for trading in general.  Wish away!

...I wrote this in another thread but I think I'll say it again: Don't forget to hit Wish when you see a CD that looks like it's already "taken".

Just as so many of us have noticed, there are a number of members that have wandered away from trading, but their "wishes" live on, causing delays and annoyance for active traders. Don't assume those "taken" items are going straight to happy homes.

I posted a bunch of wished-for items recently and am now in the Wish/Hold doldrums.  I wonder how many of us realize that those great-looking CDs that look already "taken" are probably stuck in the same situation - lingering --  and NOBODY will get them who doesn't hit Wish for themselves.
