Wow! Great topic...I love soundtracks.

My faves are:

1. Against All Odds (more like a Genesis album since Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks & Peter Gabriel all contribute. I could listen to this album everyday!)

2. Top Gun (awesome pump-you-up music!)

3. A Kind Of Magic (by Queen...considered by many to be the Highlander soundtrack. Great album! RIP Freddie Mercury.)

4. Footloose (not a bad song on this album, gotta love it!)

5. The Wedding Singer Volume 1 & 2 (I love the 80's. Apparently so does Adam Sandler because many of his movies have 80's music in the soundtracks.)

6. Dirty Dancing (another great one)

7. Quicksilver (pretty good movie starring Kevin Bacon...awesome soundtrack.)

My list could go on, but I'll stop there.

I told you I love soundtracks...here's a few more.

1. Shocker (movie by Wes Craven. Story of Horace Pinker. Timeless Love by Saraya is one of the most awesome love songs on a soundtrack.)

2. Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves (Everything I Do, I Do It For You by Bryan Adams...'nuff said!)

3. Somewhere In Time (movie starred Christopher Reeves & Jane Seymour. I love this movie and the soundtrack is great.)

4. Pretty Woman (Fun movie. Roxette is awesome whatever they are singing!)

5. Perfect (movie starred John Travolta & Jamie Lee Curtis. '80s sounding music...Wham, Thompson Twins, etc. ...this is a good thing!!)

6. Beverly Hills Cop (more '80s sounding music...still, not a bad thing!!)

7. American Anthem (movie starred Mitch Gaylord. Soundtrack includes Graham Nash, Andy Taylor, INXS, John Parr, Stevie Nicks, etc. How can this be bad?!? Awesome!)

8. White Nights (starred Gregory Hines & Mikhail Baryshnikov. Another '80s movie with an awesome soundtrack including the love theme Separate Lives by Phil Collins & Marilyn Martin.)

9. Miami Vice TV Soundtrack (How can we forget the soundtrack of a decade? Who can hear Jan Hammer's theme song and not think of the '80s? Without a doubt, the music was just as much a character on this show as were Crockett & Tubbs!)

10. Chariots Of Fire (Vangelis is incredible!)

I'm sure I'll think of more later, but for now I highly recommend these movies and soundtracks to everyone.

For a long time I was buying more soundtracks than single-artist cds. Some of my favorites are:

Frida, Elizabethtown, Brokendown Palace, & Where The Heart Is.

I've bought a lot of scores too. Braveheart; The Last Samurai; Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon & Beyond Rangoon.

Some mentioned a couple of posts ago about T.V. soundtracks and wanted the theme songs of CSI and Cold Case. I know all the CSI theme songs are by The Who and the Cold Case theme song is Nara by E.S. Posthumus. Hope that helps a little.

Interesting to read the diversity of what people like.  But, by far, my favorite soundtrack is Blade Runner.  I get goose bumps listening to that.  Although, it's not my FAVORITE work by Vangelis, by far, as an artist, his works are amazing.  Blade Runner is also my favorite movie.

I love soundtracks so was glad to see this thread and hear what other people like. Three of my favorites are:  Catch and Release, French Kiss and A Room with a View.  There was also this obscure movie quite a while ago called The Ballad of Little Jo. Love that soundtrack.

A family favorite is the Curious George Soundtrack/lullabies.  Any Shrek soundtrack too.

I also like Oh Brother, Where Art Thou, Juno, and Nacho Libre.

I can't pick just one!
