I have four brand new, sealed copies of the Athenaeum CD single "What I Didn't Know" (UPC #075678414428) available and will throw one in with any order from my tower. If you just want the single, it is also available on my tower to order. It is an enhanced CD that includes live performances and interviews according to the blurb on the cover. Post a note here and PM if you want to get one of these.

I think the problem with this policy will be that many people genuinely cannot recognize a CDR when they see one and will end up posting them without realizing they are doing something wrong. CDRs did have a blue tint to the playing side years ago, but now they are mostly silver. The label side can be a give away but if well done it can be very difficult to tell the difference. And Lightscribe CDs would fool almost anyone not familiar with them.

By popular request (okay, so two people asked...) I am listing a few 45's I have available. All the others are in nice shape. except The Beatles and The Monkees are a bit rough but should play through without skipping. Some have initials "GWO" in red marker on the label on one side and are noted at the end of the description with same. Most probably need to be cleaned. Sleeves are from the correct label unless noted otherwise and picture sleeves are also noted. I only give condition on the picture sleeves as I know that may be the main reason the 45 is wanted. Other sleeves are in decent shape but far from perfect. I also denote promo items with a "DJ" after the catalog number. I am now offering these for two 45's for one SwapaCD credit. Please post here with what you want so others will know what is taken and PM to make arrangements as well. Thanks!

Edward Bear - Cachet Country / Close Your Eyes   (Capitol 3581)
The Beatles - Let It Be / You Know My Name (Look Up My Number)   (Apple 2764)   GWO
The Beatles - She Loves You / I'll Get You   (Swan S-4152)   [A&M sleeve]
Chris Christian - Make It Last / Whatever It Is   (Boardwalk NB7-11-136)
Marshall Crenshaw - Whenever You're On My Mind (stereo) / same (mono)   (Warner Brother 29630-DJ)   [picture sleeve very nice]
Diesel - Down In The Silvermine (stereo) / same (mono)   (Regency RY 7403-DJ)
David Gates - Clouds / I Use The Soap   (Elektra EK-45857)
Kid Creole And The Coconuts - If You Wanna Be Happy (stereo) / same (mono)   (Sire 7-29468-DJ)
Josh Leo - She Don't Need Nobody / same   (Warner Brothers 7-29508-DJ)
Gordon Lightfoot - Salute (A Lot More Livin' To Do) (stereo) / same (mono)   (Warner Brothers 7-29511-DJ)
Mark Lindsay - Silver Bird / So Hard To Leave You   (Columbia 4-45180)   GWO
Mac McAnally - On The Line (stereo) / same (mono)   (Geffen 7-29515-DJ)
The Monkees - D.W. Washburn / It's Nice To Be With You   (Colgems 66-1023)   [picture sleeve okay but significant ringwear]
The Monkees - Good Clean Fun / Mommy and Daddy   (Colgems 66-5005)   [picture sleeve good with 1" seam split]   GWO
The Monkees - Last Train To Clarksville / Take A Giant Step   (Colgems 66-1001)   GWO
The Monkees - Tear Drop City / A Man Without A Dream   (Colgems 66-5000)   [picture sleeve in good condition but some light ringwear]   GWO
Pilot - Magic / Just Let Me Be   (EMI 3992)
Rank And File - Amanda Ruth (stereo) / same (mono)   (Slash 7-29591) [generic white sleeve but may be original]
Eddie Schwartz - Over The Line (stereo) / same (mono)   (Atco 7402)
Stealers Wheel - What More Could You Want / Star   (A&M AM1483)   [picture sleeve okay but has small tear in center and some ringwear]
Sandy Stewart - Saddest Victory (stereo) / same (mono)   (Modern 7-99774-DJ)   [picture sleeve very nice]

Ah, the spirit of giving! I'll throw a couple of things I have multiple copies of into the ring and even offer two copies of each [EDIT: 1 copy of each remaining]...

Robertson's Good Rare Wine - Everything Is Plaid
This is a CD from singer-songwriter Robertson "Bob" Scott,  a local artist here in eastern North Carolina who passed away a few years ago. The CD wasa labor of love for Bob and anyone who likes the singer-songwriter "genre" will probably find the disc interesting. Sort of a James Taylor meets David Bowie at Bob Marley's house kind of thing. This one is unpostable so even if you wanted to you cannot find it on my tower.

Bulletboys - Freakshow
Not the 'Boys biggest release but it does feature the excellent "Hang On St. Christopher" and was their last for Warner Brothers. Hair metal... ya gotta love the '80s. This one is a cut-out so there is a sawmark in the rear artwork but what d'ya want for free?

Just post which freebie you want here and PM and I will get it out to you the first of next week.

If you miss the no-strings-attached copies and still want a free one of either of these, you could probably talk me into throwing in a copy with any order from my tower... I have a few of each.

I will be adding to this list as time goes by. All vinyl is generally VG to VG+ but ask if have specific concerns about a particular title as most are not perfect (though a few may be) and some may be VG-. Jackets are generally nice but can have some damage including ringwear, scuffing, sticker residue, cut-out marks, promo stamps, etc. but most are very clean. Again, ask if you have concerns.

I will give 2 LPs for 1 credit or 5 LPs for 2 credits. Double album sets count as 2 LPs and are noted. All LPs shipped Media Mail.

...watch for updates...

Glad to see there is some interest! I think vinyl might actually get more attention than videocassette. VHS is fading but vinyl has actually been making a mild comeback and not just among older collectors. It's kind of funny that my niece who is in her 20's has almost no idea what vinyl even is but her daughter who is 6 wants a record player! LOL! A couple of years ago I didn't even bother listing albums for sale but a couple of months ago I put up a few and have had great success with them. Mostly high school kids have been buying and mostly classic rock kind of stuff. But I would rather trade out for CD credits and it gives the new collectors a chance to pick up some old classics without spending that ever harder to find cash. Maybe it could even bring some more members to the site. I hope it at least gets considered.

Okay, so maybe I am just the greedy sort, but I have noticed an unusual trend here at the SwapaDoohickey trading sites... the Powers That Be seem to actually listen and respond to the members of the site. Now this is a bit unusual in the age of eBay and Amazon, but I am getting used to it. With that in mind, I would like to ask if there would be anyone interested in swapping vinyl albums, cassette tapes or (for those of us who just cannot let go of the past) maybe even 8-track tapes for CD credits?

Over at the SwapaDVD site, there is a VHS Bazaar along with the DVD Bazaar (which of course is similar to the CD Bazaar here). When there was some interest shown in swapping laserdiscs, laserdiscs were added to the VHS Bazaar. So would anyone be interested in a LP/cassette/8-track Bazaar over here? I have tons of great vinyl along with not-quite-tons-but-still-a-bunch of sealed cassettes and even a few sealed 8-tracks. If there is any interest, I would bet we can get a new Bazaar added.
