I have a bunch of CMJ compilation discs from the height of the college radio renaisance. Certain damage Volumes 17 to 27, 30 to 33. These came with the College Music Journal. I also have Volumes 69- 79, 95 & 96 of Discs from CMJ New Music Monthly. These aren't your ordinary run of the mill promo discs. Some cuts are rarities. Lots of sonic surprises. Some absolutely great little gems that few people outside the industry have ever heard. Hundreds of great or interesting songs. Consider it a Timelife collection of alternative music! All 2 for 1. College Music Journal, (CMJ), is a music events/publishing company famous for its annual festival in New York City, the CMJ Music Marathon, a weekly magazine for the music industry and college radio stations in the U S and Canada. It publishes top 30 lists sent by stations which subscribe at a cost of a few hundred dollars a year. It is also sent to record companies and their representatives as well as record stores. CMJ formerly published CMJ New Music Monthly, a magazine with interviews, reviews, and special features. Each issue came with a CD of 15-24 songs by well-established bands, unsigned bands and everything in between. The staff puts together CMJ Music Marathon, a famous convention and music festival, each autumn, in New York. A second festival: the CMJ Rock Hall Music Fest, took place in Cleveland in 2005 and 2006.
