You have to remember that letters are not handled one at a time - they are fed into the machines  - so it's not like you have a postal employee looking at each and every one to see if they're stamped Non-machinable.     And when they do go through the machines, the CD frequently breaks.   Metal is a tad stronger than plastic.

I see in this posting and in others that you are not happy with some of the new changes in SACD.  You may consider looking at the changes in a more positive way.  People complained that SACD was not getting new CDs added into the mix for a few reasons.   One was that more people bought credits instead of putting more CDs into the mix by trading.   By raising the price you can sell a credit for, their hope (I would think) is to encourage people to trade CD's (and add to the mix) vs. merely buying credits - because now it's cheaper to do so.    Similarly, with reinstating the multiple wishlist, people are adding CDs to the mix that they may never have added if they had to send each one out individually.   This saves the sender postage and encourages them to add more CDs to the mix.   And I have been trading with icberry for a few years now - and she is truly top drawer - no worries about any motives of pushing someone ahead of you or anyone in line.    Your posts indicate you haven't been happy in a while with SACD - well they're obviously listening and making changes that will hopefully make trading a better experience for you and everyone.   And if something doesn't work - they could try something else - but at least they're trying.....

I think the best way would either be to list them as without art (and provide the digipaks as a bonus) ~or~ list them in the bazaar, maybe as a lot.

CDs are covered in section 4.1.e of the second link you provided - sound recordings.   A CD is a sound recording and is still eligible for media mail.

Patricia - don't assume that not receiving a CD means the sender didn't send it.   Around the holidays - there are substitute mail personnel and things sometimes go awry.    If SACD cancelled an order for you - you would have received both your credits and the fees back - so you wouldn't be missing out on anything.   I am pretty confident that almost all traders here are honest - and it's a good policy to give the other person the benefit of the doubt.   (They may have gone away for the holidays and weren't able to return your PMs or they may have had a health emergency in the family which takes precedence over any and all trading.)

This isn't anything that's going to comfort you or anyone - but I know the Post Office is considering cutting back on services which will end up making waits even longer.

If you were a new trader, I'd advise you to double check your address in the system (since this happened to you with more than one trader) - but as you have been a member since 2012 - I'm sure your address would be correct.

Anyway - we feel your pain and I hope the CDs you haven't received yet arrive at your house early next week.....

Here's a youtube video that shows you how to replace a CD case.    After the 1:00 mark, it shows you how to remove the rear insert.   Hope this helps:

Super - it's obvious you have a wonderful place to buy CDs for less than 25 cents - but if you search on Amazon - you will see exactly the prices I stated yesterday - they haven't changed - the cheapest one on Amazon is $5.99 used with no artwork and $10. new.    And if you could buy one for less than 25 cents, how come you waited 5 months for one you paid .47 fee plus a credit for?

Anyway - I am not arguing with you.   I am trying to help you.   If you have limited CDs on your W/L - you're going to wait an awful long time to get something.   If most of your W/L items are expensive CDs ($10 and up on Amazon) - you are going to wait an awful long time to get something.  If you add items, you will increase your chances to get something you want.    Also check the titles on your W/L's.    I didn't look at yours, Valerie - but I took a quick look at Laura's when she first brought this up.   Some of her W/L titles are for the Japanese imports.   If that's truly what she wants - that's fine.   But if she wants any copy, she should see if there's a domestic issue by searching on the title/artist - and W/L'ing that to increase her chances of getting the music.

Not sure if it was a cheapie title when you got it in June - but now the cheapest one on Amazon is $5.99 used with no artwork and $10. new.   A lot of members are really neat - and  they will put up their surplus without regard to it's value.  However, some members would rather sell it on eBay or wherever for $6 or so rather than get a credit for it which is valued in the bazaar at $2 - $2.25.    I'm just saying that adding more wants gives people a better chance to snag something they want.   Also one should check the new items coming in every day - you may find something you forgot about or didn't know about and you can snag it.

Two of your Van Morrison album requests (Beautiful visions & Astral) are cheapies - so you're right - I guess no one wanted to get rid of their's.   But the others - the Japanese versions, the multi-CD set, and the best of - are not cheap.

BTW - my response wasn't meant to infer that you were only selecting expensive CDs - this happens naturally.  When a person first joins, they put up a gaggle of CDs they want.   Usually the cheapies come in quickly leaving the more expensive wants.   Just the reverse with CDs one lists to trade.   The ones that are worth more typically go first leaving everyone with the Backstreet Boys and other 90s CDs that were popular then but not too much now.

But I stand by my suggestion - adding some more CDs to your wish list should help get you some music.

@Laura - I took a quick look at your wish list.   The CDs you want range from moderate to very expensive.    If you are looking for more activity - add some titles to your wish list that aren't $10 to $60 range and you should have significantly better luck.   Don't remove any of your wishes - because you never know, someone might actually list one of the box sets you have up there, but it's not likely someone will list an expensive item to obtain a credit he or she could buy for $2 or so in the bazaar.   Don't get me wrong - I have a lot of expensive CDs and box sets on my W/L as well - but I don't honestly expect to receive them (but you never know).

Annie - you may not have been able to post it because you spelled her first name incorrectly. Here's a link: http://www.swapacd.com/Barbra-Streisand-Broadway-Album/cd/24206/
