Plumb was an alternative CCM band based in Nashville and centered around singer/songwriter
Tiffany Arbuckle, who founded the band upon purchasing an acoustic guitar from future songwriting partner and
Plumb co-producer
Matt Bronleewe.
Bronleewe introduced
Arbuckle to friends
Joe Porter (drums) and
Matt Stanfield (keyboards, programming), and the lineup was completed with bassist
J.J. Plasencio and guitarist
Stephen Leiweke. The group released its self-titled debut on Essential Records in 1997, with
Bronleewe and
Jars of Clay's
Dan Haseltine co-producing the record. The band's second album, Candycoatedwaterdrops, followed in 1999, after which
Arbuckle left to pursue a solo career under the band's existing moniker. 2000's The Best of Plumb effectively completed
Plumb's contract with Essential, allowing
Arbuckle to partner with Curb Records on her future releases. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide
