singer/songwriter and musician
Jennifer Turner first got her start playing guitar with
Natalie Merchant. Having guested on
Merchant's 1995 solo effort Tigerlily,
Turner crafted a playing style that would lead her to her next project:
Furslide. She, bassist
Jason Lader, and drummer
Adam MacDougall inked a deal with Virgin in early 1998 and hooked up with
Nellee Hooper for
Furslide's debut, Adventure. The album would gain play among college radio and tours with
Lenny Kravitz, Smashing Pumpkins, and
Alanis Morissette pushed
Furslide to sell 25,000 copies of Adventure.
Turner, however, disappeared after such critical, whirlwind success. She needed a rest from such mainstream control. By 2001, she had re-emerged with her own label, Caboose, and a fresh batch of songs. Now going by the moniker
Inner,
Turner's sweetly tainted demeanor took shape and such freshness was captured on
Inner's first album, Lovetheonlyway, in May 2002. Inner's releases are available from Caboose Music's website, www.caboosemusic.com. ~ MacKenzie Wilsonwww.caboosemusic.com. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, All Music Guide
