Discovered while busking in the streets of London,
One the Juggler main-men
Rokko (vocals/guitar) and
Lushi (bass guitar) signed a deal with Regard Records (home of
Haysi Fantayzee) and recruited second guitarist
Lin Minchin and drummer
Steve Nicol (sax player
Ian Trimmer remained an unofficial member), releasing a slew of singles throughout 1983. Releasing their debut album, Nearly a Sin, in 1984, the band received initial interest from the British press, but it didn't translate into sales. By the release of their second album (produced by the legendary
Mick Ronson), Some Strange Fashion, Minchin and
Nicol were gone, leaving
Rokko,
Lushi,
Trimmer, and
Ronson to handle most of the duties. Within a year of its release,
Rokko,
Lushi, and
Trimmer had split and
One the Juggler were just a memory. ~ Steve "Spaz" Schnee, All Music Guide
