Album Review

Greatest Hits: The Atlantic Years collects all of the Christian rap-metal outfit P.O.D.'s hit singles, including such well-known cuts as "Boom," "Roots in Stereo," "Alive," "Satellite," and more. For listeners who aren't familiar with the passionate and intensely driven band's recordings, this compilation offers a superb introduction to their hard rock meets reggae and rap aesthetic and nicely encapsulates what has made them so successful. Also included here are two new tracks that fit in well with the best of P.O.D.'s work. Sure, as this is an Atlantic-based hits collection, no cuts off the group's first album, Brown, are included, but considering that P.O.D. didn't really come into their creative peak until they were on Atlantic, the omission isn't that significant. In fact, as Greatest Hits: The Atlantic Years includes all of the most memorable cuts the band has released, it's easily the most listener-friendly album in their catalog. ~ Matt Collar, All Music Guide
