Screamin' Jay Hawkins never made an album that wasn't wildly uneven in performance quality, songs, production, arrangements, and musicianship. This one is no less erratic; sometimes Hawkins' inspired lunacy makes its mark, and other times it falls woefully short. But it's fun hearing him keep trying. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide
