Album Review
The Direct Source compilation Country Hit Parade is a ten-track, budget-priced set that contains some of Jerry Lee Lewis' hottest tunes recorded for Sun Records in the '50s including "Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On," "Great Balls of Fire," and "Drinking Wine Spo-Dee-O-Dee." As budget-line collections go, Country Hit Parade isn't bad, especially since it contains the original versions of these tracks, but better compilations are more easily available such as 18 Original Sun Greatest Hits on Rhino. ~ Al Campbell, All Music Guide
