Album Review

Transience of Love is the soundtrack to the short film of the same name. Walter Holland composed, performed and produced the set. Steve Roach co-produced. It is a Same Rosenthal film on Projekt Video. This is a set of angst-laden compositions -- long on sorrow and long on pain. Holland's music sets the table for imagery associated with lost love, unrequited love and burned out love. The atmospheres are dark and dense. The have dirge-like qualities and organic textures. The textures are also quite damp -- almost to the point of being wet. The music is good and the somber mood allows for examination of one's misery. The disc will appeal to fans of Alio Die, Loren Nerell and Carl Weingarten. ~ Jim Brenholts, All Music Guide
