Album Review

BMG/RCA's Essential Collection features 18 tracks culled from Daryl Hall and John Oates' long and fruitful career, including radio classics like "Sara Smile," "Rich Girl," "Kiss on My List," "Private Eyes," "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)," "Say It Isn't So," "One On One," and "Method of Modern Love." It's a fairly standard Hall & Oates compilation that suffers only from the exclusion of one their best songs, "You Make My Dreams." Fans looking for a more comprehensive anthology would be better off with 2005's Essential Daryl Hall & John Oates. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide
