This single-disc set by Acrobat contains 25 cuts from the original Capitol masters by Hank Thompson. Titling this "best of" is a bit misleading because it only concentrates on his early years ("Pop a Top" isn't here), but that doesn't mean what is here should by any means be overlooked. Of the 25 tunes here, Thompson wrote 24. They include such honky tonk classics as "A Broken Heart and a Glass of beer," "California Women," "Humpty Dumpty Heart," "Give a Little, Take a Little," and the stunner, "My Heart Is a Jigsaw Puzzle." ~ Thom Jurek, All Music Guide
