Album Review
The title of this release is a little deceptive, since Jimmy McGriff only did one record with Headfirst Records, 1990's You Ought to Think About Me, and this is it, with "Merry Christmas Baby" added as a bonus track. Featuring McGriff's patented soul-jazz Hammond B-3 playing, the album culminates in a version of Ray Charles' "Hallelujah, I Love Her So" that gathers strands of soul, blues, gospel, jazz, and funk into one musical basket. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
