Album Review
Things are starting to wear thin on BMG's third volume of Bob Dylan cover songs. Although this two-disc set has some high points, in the end it sounds a little bit like a parody of a tribute album. Tokyo Bob's version of "Million Dollar Bash" is a case in point. This professional impersonator does such a spot-on imitation of Dylan, you begin to wonder what the point might be. A couple of tracks do stand out, though, including Eric Andersen and Massimo Bubalo's pass through "It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)," and a ten-minute take on "Blind Willie McTell" by Black Cat Bone, featuring guitarist Mick Taylor, who played on Dylan's original version. The final cut, "Rising Sun" by the California band the Cruzados, boasts Dylan himself playing harmonica. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
