In its original LP incarnation circa 1983, Kent's Time Is on My Side was a solid 16-track compilation of Irma Thomas material from the mid-'60s, most of it duplicated by the more extensive CDs on EMI and Razor & Tie. By the time of its CD release in 1996, however, it boasted more tracks than both of them, with seven songs not appearing on either of the other collections. Those tracks are worth hearing, particularly the gutsy soul-pop concoction "Baby Don't Look Down," one of Randy Newman's earliest compositions. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide
