Album Review

Keep a Knockin': The Best of Little Richard includes his early hits recorded for the Specialty label in the mid- to late '50s. Among the 25 tracks are classics like "Tutti Frutti," "Long Tall Sally," "Rip It Up," and "Good Golly Miss Molly," alongside equally frantic cuts that didn't get as much attention upon initial release, including "All Around the World," "Heebie-Jeebies," "Miss Ann," and "True Fine Mama." Little Richard Penniman could even make the standards "By the Light of the Silvery Moon" and "Baby Face" rock like nobody else. Any compilation that features the original Specialty records of the Georgia Peach is highly recommended, including Keep a Knockin'. ~ Al Campbell, All Music Guide
