Album Review
Franz Waxman provided the incidental music for a number of timeless films, including The Philadelphia Story and Rebecca. Legends Of Hollywood: Franz Waxman, Vol. 4 features selections from some of his lesser-known films, including My Cousin Rachel and Dark City, as performed by Australia's Queensland Symphony Orchestra. Though the original soundtrack recordings may have been preferable for scholars, this disc gives a good sense of Waxman's talents and is an excellent edition to Varese's ongoing series. ~ Rodney Batdorf, All Music Guide
