Album Review
Rhino's Essentials offers a concise selection of some of Wilson Pickett's best-known songs, including "Funky Broadway," "Land of 1000 Dances," "Mustang Sally," and "In the Midnight Hour." The collection is smaller than either of the label's other Pickett collections, Best of Wilson Pickett and A Man and a Half: The Best of Wilson Pickett, but Essentials still manages to make room for "634-5789 (Soulsville U.S.A.)," as well as Pickett's covers of "Hey Jude" and "Sugar Sugar." ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
