Album Review
This compilation showcases some of Jacques Dutronc's best-known hits of the 1960s. Most of them are the result of his successful songwriting partnership with writer and lyricist Jacques Lanzmann -- "Et Moi et Moi et Moi" ( Dutronc's first solo hit), "Les Play Boys," and "Les Cactus." Among other highlights are "L'Opportuniste," directly inspired by the political turmoil of May 1968, and the compositions "J'aime les Filles" and "L'Hôtesse de L'air" that rely on the singer's public image as a ladies' man. The only noticeable omission is "Il Est Cinq Heures Paris S'éveille," Dutronc's absolute classic from 1967, which was recently voted the best French song of the last 40 years. ~ Yuri German, All Music Guide
