Album Review
Before Pearl Jam released their concert tours on CD, fans were treated to singles jam-packed with bonus tracks. This single for "Dissident" is from the band's 1994 CD, Vs., and contains a mini concert with two songs from that album and four songs from Ten, as well as the LP version of the title track. Epic must have known that this set would be popular for fans because, after its release, the label decided to repackage and expand the set. Included in this six-track version are top-notch versions of "Release," "Rearviewmirror," "Even Flow," "Dissident," "Why Go," and "Deep." The live recording was mixed by Brendan O'Brien from an April 3, 1994, performance at Atlanta's Fox Theater and sounds like the source was room mics. Overall a very good single and the best way to get these early live recordings. ~ JT Griffith, All Music Guide
