Album Review
It's been said before but it bears repeating: early on, Motörhead must have signed the worst record deal imaginable. That could be the only reason why a non-stop flood of compilations and live sets have saturated the marketplace for years now, with most of these titles mere re-packagings of previously issued sets. Case in point, 1999's Motörhead Plugged In! Including 11 tracks from a show that has been issued countless times over the years (allegedly recorded in Birmingham during 1977) Plugged In! features just about every highlight from Motörhead's self-titled debut, including "Motorhead," "White Line Fever," "The Watcher" and others. While it's an interesting snapshot of Motörhead's classic Lemmy/ Fast Eddie/ Philthy Animal lineup, it's not such an exceptional live recording to have warranted as many re-packagings (which leads you to believe that the group hasn't seen a penny of these shady reissues). Stick with the superior No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith, instead. ~ Greg Prato, All Music Guide
