Various Artists - Heartbreak of Rock

An odd group of songs (one would never expect to see INXS and Winger on the same compilation) makes up this collection of the great heartbreak songs of rock. The album earns points for its camp value -- hair bands of the '80s are featured heavily here singing their guts out about loneliness, but the songs' themes are not enough to tie them together as a collection -- the artists, which include Yes, Heart, Genesis, and Nazareth, as well as INXS and Winger, are just too different for the whole thing to attain much listenability. ~ Stacia Proefrock, All Music Guide
